ONLINE ISLAMIC INFORMATION RESOURCES IN INDONESIA

Perbedaan Dasar Antara Pendekatan Kualitatif dan KuantitatifIndonesia is the largest Moslem country in the world. More than 90 % of its citizens that reach 250 million were Moslem. Ideally, there are many Islamic information resources available in the web in Bahasa Indonesia published by Islamic Institution to fulfill community need. But in contras, if wee “googling” in the web to search Islamic teaching in Bahasa Indonesia, we will get a little result that published by personal (in his/her blog) or by institution that we don’t know its reputation. This article will study online Islamic resources in Bahasa Indonesia, its publisher, its contents and study why there is a little authoritative resource available. Through research and surfing on the web, sending e-mail to publisher and chatting over internet, comparing with overseas resources, writer done this research. There are some conclusion, First, more than 80 % online Islamic resources published by personal or institution that have a little knowledge of Islam and they were newly learn about Islam after the come to university. This groups were technocrat, academician, professional that have high spirit on Islam. Only 20 percent resources published by authoritative publisher like pesantren, Islamic Higher Education, of Islamic Social Institution. Second, Contents of online Islamic resources in Bahasa Indonesia in average were on jihad, personal piety and build Islamic identity, the content show that Islam more exclusive that it should be. The authoritative resources, that only 20 percent publish information about Islam that more inclusive, peace and most of their content were academic views. This group didn’t produce more practical teaching of Islam to fulfill most of population in Indonesia. Third, there are some answers of why an authoritative resource didn’t available. Fist The ulama who has a huge of knowledge on Islam didn’t mastering information technology, second, Islamic Social Institution like Muhammadiyah and Nahdlatul Ulama more busy on practical politic more than thinking of their followers, and third, IT viewed as secular world that not related to Islam as religious world. At the end, we need to build an authoritative online resource published in Bahasa Indonesia with collaborative between IT practitioner, librarian and ulama to ensure its content can be accountable
